Keep lameness swept under the carpet

There are no reliable figures for the prevalence of lameness in the national dairy herd. However evidence from the Tubney Healthy Feet Project and the North West Mobility Project suggest an average of over 30% of cows in Mobility Score 2 and 3 in British dairy herds. If one in three cows are affected this means around 600,000 cows are experiencing moderate or severe discomfort.
